We turn to Angled Views of Tech
Regardless of reading "You are not a gadget" I still hold my obsessive religious cult-like view for Web 2.0. His argument against the collective stimulating growth and how it doesn't give proper results, is just absurd. I understand that he himself was part of 1990's silicon valley but I don't think the techonology doesn't get muddled down from the mob.
Maybe I feel this way because I'm particularly faithful to both google and chromium projects (not chrome). And also my desire for programming and all the tools I get for free based on this willingness of open source. I can just grab the JDK or SDK from the site and start working on a project.
I don't think he's arguing for elitism of Microsoft or IBM.
Yes, internet and the technology changes are having adverse effects on social structures, but one can't go back to the 18th century (even though I would very much prefer that, feeling more at home in england having armchair philosophy discussions hold for entertainment and understanding of others).
This web 2.0 will burst by the time I have the potential to insert myself in it but it looks like one has to make a living in the recovery. Once it blows, it'll be even more about security. Anonymous, please help me secure my future jobs, cause chaos.
Destroy digital infrastructures so that I may have a good job waiting for me for security programming.
